The international seminar on Oral Tradition with the theme: “Preserving Tradition, Caring for Nature.” This theme is based on the importance of understanding culture and maintaining and preserving tradition to care for nature. This is based on the awareness that culture and nature are fundamental aspects of human life and have become the primary concern in various disciplines. This seminar is organized by the Department of Oral Tradition, Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Halu Oleo University, in collaboration with the Publisher IAIN Manado Press, LP2M IAIN Manado, in the committee and publication of the proceedings. This Oral Tradition Seminar is being held for the first time. Hopefully, it will continue to be held in the coming years, with themes always adjusted to the conditions and needs of science and development. The sub-themes that are the main discussion topics in this seminar include Sustainable Agricultural Practices, Local Cultural Heritage, Nature Celebration Festivals, Use of Natural Materials, Environmental Education, Local Wisdom, Ecosystem Restoration, Ecotourism Development, Literature and the Environment. The book of proceedings of this International Seminar is expected to provide benefits including (1) Increasing knowledge and understanding of the relationship between Culture, Tradition, and nature and its impact on human life and the environment; (2) Developing new insights and perspectives on interdisciplinary approaches in understanding complex Cultural, Tradition and ecological problems; (3) Opportunities to network and collaborate with experts and practitioners from various disciplines, and expand professional networks; and Access to the latest information on study, findings, and innovations related to ecology in Culture and Tradition.
